We carry a mission to share the heritage with both our Muslim and non-Muslim communities.
Our workshops, held in mosques, community centers, and flagship universities, are a gateway to presenting the profound history of Islam, the gradual revelation of the Quran, and its preservation through writing.
We keep it highly engaging, so that everyone leaves the workshop with a better sense of Islamic calligraphy.
Workshops consist of three parts: presentation, hands-on experience, and writing names in Arabic.
Workshops can be either one-time events or part of a 3-4 week sequential series.
The presentation covers an introduction to the history of Qur'an, its revelation process.
Islamic religious arts refrain from depicting symbols, images, and physical representations of Allah, prophets, and created beings.
Islamic calligraphy, which goes back to the artistry of ‘Ali b. Ali Talib, grows with elaborate Arabic scripts and ornamentation.
In the second part of the workshop, attendees will explore the art of Islamic Calligraphy with the assistance of our calligrapher.
They will learn more about how to use a bamboo pen, specially designed for Islamic calligraphy, and other tools needed for calligraphy.
Each participant practices writing well-known Islamic phrases such as 'Alhamdulillah' (Praise/Thanks be to God), 'As-salamu alaykum' (Peace be upon you), 'Bismillah' (In the name of God), 'Insha'Allah' (If God wills), and more.
The workshop concludes by teaching participants writing their own names in Arabic using Islamic calligraphy. It is a unique experience for each student, leaving the workshop with an unforgettable memory.
